Jacobs/Ryan Associates (JRA) worked closely with the neighborhood to understand what they loved most dearly about the existing playlot, making sure the new design preserved and enhanced the way they wanted to use it. The play areas include contemporary new play structures and swings for all ages. At the center of the park are two council rings, designed to be areas for parents and guardians to socialize and be able to easily observe their charges. Other amenities in the park include the addition of slate chalkboards mounted on the existing masonry wall, and new interactive animal sculptures in harmony with a refurbished turtle fountain preserved from the previous playground layout.

JRA’s scope included conceptual designs for the playground, full construction documents including various custom installations, as well as construction administration for the playground installation. JRA also aided the community’s fund raising efforts by contributing renderings and promotional material to garner support.
